Hiya Linda,
Welcome to planDisney! If I had to list some of my favorite must-haves for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, a
Disney Gift Card would be at the very top of that list. I never leave for my trip without at least one Disney Gift Card, my Mickey Ears, and extra socks.
In my experience, I have never not been able to use a Disney Gift Card at a table or quick service dining location at Walt Disney World Theme Parks. However, policies change just as quickly as Pascal changes his color. I’ve had experiences in the past where my gift card wasn’t accepted at a location, but then when I visited on a different trip, it was accepted. Disney Gift Cards are generally accepted at
shopDisney, Disney-owned-and-operated locations, and select locations not owned by Disney. There is a broad list of categories on the Disney Gift Card website, but unfortunately, it is not comprehensive. The only way to know for sure is to ask the Cast Member at the location when you check in for your reservation or before ordering.
I hope this helps answer your question! One last tip, don’t forget you can combine multiple Disney Gift Cards together (up to $1,000 on one card). By combining your Disney Gift Cards, you will spend less time trying to track which card has money remaining on it.
Please let me know if I can help you with anything else,
Happy Planning!
