Hiya Janet! Welcome to planDisney! We're so happy you are here!
When visiting
Walt Disney World from New York in the winter, I want to spend as much time as possible enjoying the warmer weather before heading back home to the cold. So, to me, outdoor dining is always a good idea! There are so many great outdoor dining options throughout Walt Disney World, including some fantastic options outside of the parks.
If you're looking for dining outside of the theme parks, the first that comes to mind is a visit to
Disney Springs. With so many delicious restaurants created by award-winning chefs, you're bound to find something for every palate. A few within this selection of restaurants offer some fantastic outdoor dining areas. One of my absolute favorite restaurants,
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin', has a beautiful outdoor patio area where you can kick back and enjoy their absolutely phenomenal fried chicken. Perhaps the best spot for outdoor dining at Disney Springs is
The BOATHOUSE. Not only is the food excellent, but the views of the lake are top-notch. Just make sure you leave some room for one of their decadent desserts.
When it comes to outdoor dining at the Disney Resorts Collection hotels, I have a few favorites I would love to share with you. Over at
Disney's Old Key West is
Olivia's Cafe, which is a bit of a hidden gem. You'll feel like you've been transported to the Florida Keys while you dine on delicious comfort food. Their breakfast is out of the world, so I highly recommend checking them out. Another great option is
Trattoria al Forno at
Disney's BoardWalk. This casual Italian eatery is perfect for a relaxing meal. For dessert, I recommend heading over to
BoardWalk Ice Cream to grab a delicious sundae to enjoy as you stroll around the BoardWalk and take in the stunning views. That sounds like a dream evening to me!
Don't forget that many of the counter service dining locations around Walt Disney World offer outdoor tables to enjoy your meal. A few of my favorites include
Primo Piatto at Disney's Riviera Resort,
Capt. Cook's at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and
Geyser Point Bar & Grill at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
Janet, there are so many fantastic outdoor dining options to choose from, and I'm sure whatever you pick will be absolutely delicious! Please feel free to write us again if you would like to hear more of our recommendations.
Bon Appétit!
