Welcome to planDisney, Leilie!
I am SO thrilled that I came across your question today as I have been dying to talk to somebody about a new feature on the Disney World Website! YAY!
A few years back I had to greatly reduce the amount of meat and animal products I was eating — and I LOVED dining at Disney World! I’m so happy that they now have a Guide to Plant-Based Dining on the website! I SO WISH that this would have been an option for me a few years ago, but I am really, really excited to show you this page!
Follow this link to the
Guide to Plant-Based Dining, Leilie, and you will enter a comprehensive webpage that will answer all of your dining questions! If you scroll down just a little bit, you’ll see each theme park listed. When you select the “View More” option, you will see all of the restaurants (and the menu items) that have plant-based options! EEK! Seriously this is such an incredible page that has been put together for Guests! YAY! You can do this same search for Disney Springs and the Water Parks and the Disney Resort Hotels a little further down the page. I kid you not, there are even recipes toward the very bottom of the page for some crowd-favorites!
Thank you for letting me geek out about this new page, Leilie! Now, I am going to bestow upon you the greatest vegetarian meal you can get at Disney World… so prepare yourself. Make a reservation to
Steakhouse 71. This is a restaurant at the Contemporary Resort. (It does not matter if you’re not staying here. Ride the monorail and get to this restaurant so you can eat the food I am about to tell you about.) Get the Baby Iceburg Wedge Salad without bacon as your appetizer. (If you don’t like blue cheese then get the Sea-Salt Dusted Potato Brioche.) Then order the Vegetable “Wellington” for your meal with a side of Creamed Spinach. The Vegetable “Wellington” has mushrooms and fire-roasted artichokes wrapped in puff pastry, romesco, and brussels sprouts. I eat meat now, but I have not found a better entree than this in the parks. Period. It is the best. If you’re a sauce person, add the flight of sauces to your meal and dip your “Wellington”, you will thank me later. For dessert, get the Signature Chocolate Cake or the Seasonal Cheesecake. You can’t go wrong either way.
Alright, now that I have bestowed the knowledge of the greatest Disney World vegetarian meal upon you, it’s time for me to say goodbye! If you have any additional questions, we hope you’ll visit us again at planDisney! We’re just a dream away!
