Hiya Carol,
It is great to see you back here at planDisney. One of my absolute favorite
Walt Disney World Resort vacations was when we took my 85 year old grandmother with us. It was the first time she had ever been to Walt Disney World and the memories she shared with her great-grandsons are something I will never forget. At the time we began planning that trip, we worried about maneuvering her wheelchair around the attractions and restaurants, but I am happy to tell you that she was able to enjoy everything we did, with no accessibility issues at all.
The easy answer to your question is all
Disney World restaurants are handicap accessible. While you may find some locations easier to move around in than others, you will not have any accessibility issues at any dining location you select. Additionally Cast Members are on hand at each restaurant entrance to direct you to the easiest way to enter the restaurant and access your table, as well as assist as needed. If you are able to transfer, you can use your wheelchair to reach your table and once you have transferred to your seat, the Cast Member will be happy to move your wheelchair and store it until you are ready to leave. If you prefer to leave your wheelchair outside the restaurant and are able to walk to your table, they will be happy to let you know the best place to self-park. And of course, if you are unable to transfer, they will arrange for you to remain in your wheelchair during your meal. It is always a good idea to mention any specific needs you may have when making your
advanced dining reservation.
If you are dining at a counter service location and having difficulty finding an accessible table or even getting your food from the counter to a table, please do not hesitate to ask a Cast Member for assistance. They will be happy to help find a comfortable place for you to enjoy your meal and if needed, help assist you with getting your order if you are unable to do so yourself. If you have any questions pertaining to services or access options prior to your arrival, please contact
Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or by email at disability.services@disneyparks.com. They will be happy to provide plenty of helpful information or options for your upcoming visit.
If we can assist with anything further, please stop back and
see us.
Hope to see ya real soon,
Margaret
