Restaurants good for kids? That take reservations.

Hi there, Sandra, and welcome to planDisney! I couldn't be happier that you're here today with this great question about taking a Walt Disney World Resort vacation with your kiddos. Visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth is my family's favorite thing, and part of what we look forward to the most is incredible dining experiences.

Sandra, you'll be happy to know that so many restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort are great for kids. When planning your vacation, you'll notice a few different kinds of dining, and most fall under two categories: table service and quick-service. Most table service restaurants will accept Advance Dining Reservations and most quick-service restaurants are the type where you can either walk up and place your order at the counter or place a Mobile Food & Beverage Order. Some of our favorite table service restaurants include: Tusker House Restaurant, Jungle Cruise Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen, Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera, and Roundup Rodeo BBQ.

One of the best things about having an Advance Dining Reservation is the ability to plan your day ahead of time and know that you'll have a dedicated place and time to relax around a table full of delicious food. Table service restaurants can have buffets, family-style meals, traditional menus, and even Character Dining. Buffets and family-style meals are all-you-care-to-enjoy and a child under the age of three may eat off of an adult's plate at no additional charge. At Walt Disney World Resort, kids ages three to nine may order off the kid's menu, and Guests aged ten and above will order from the adult menu.

I mentioned some of our favorite dining locations above, and here's a bit more about each of them and why we love them!

Tusker House Restaurant checks a lot of boxes for my family! Located within Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, it's a buffet full of traditional food my kiddos love, and African-inspired dishes we've never seen before. Donald Duck and his pals, all dressed in their safari best, visit each table for photos.

You'll find Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom Park. The food is delicious, and the decor is delightful. I love having an Advance Dining Reservation for a restaurant during our time at Magic Kingdom Park because table service restaurants are the only place where you can find an adult beverage at this theme park.

Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera at Disney's Riviera Resort is a great place to have a meal to start your day. You'll meet some of your favorite Disney Characters while enjoying favorites like wood-fired steak and eggs.

Roundup Rodeo BBQ at Disney's Hollywood Studios is so much fun because you'll feel just like one of Andy's toys as you enjoy family-style BBQ favorites. Stay on the lookout for Andy and be prepared to freeze if you hear him coming!

Sandra, these are just a few of the many places you and your kids can enjoy during your vacation. Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have as you continue to plan your visit! With three Mouseketeers of my own, I'd love to share other tips with you!

    See you real soon!
