Justin from Metro Manila Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hi! All the restaurants that have character dining experiences seem to be full on the day we're going to the park. Would it be possible to be wait-listed in case someone cancels?

Hiya, Justin! Sharing a meal with Goofy, Mickey, Pluto, and all your favorites is a beloved Disneyland Resort tradition, and I can understand why it's important for you to include it in your upcoming visit! There is really nothing like eating your Mickey waffles and then getting a hug from the big guy himself! Those are some forever memories in the making.

While there are no waitlists available for cancellations, I would encourage you to keep checking for dining reservations through the Disneyland website or the Disneyland Mobile App. Guests are always changing plans and modifying and canceling reservations, so they can pop up! Without knowing how large your party is, I just checked for a party of four on June 9th and found some openings at both Goofy's Kitchen and Storytellers Cafe!

There are a few character dining options to choose from, but I will say there are two that are a bit more off the beaten path where you may have a bit more luck finding an opening! Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel is actually one of my absolute favorites. Chef Goofy warmly greets you to a delicious buffet (if you go for breakfast, you're definitely going to want to try the Mickey-shaped frittata!), and you're likely to see some classic characters like Chip, Dale, Minnie and Pluto! It's open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, making it the most accessible option. The last few times I've been to the Disneyland Resort, I could actually find same-day reservations here. Since it's not located in the parks, it makes for a great meal on arrival or departure day if you are coming for multiple days!

Another good option is Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast at Storytellers Cafe in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Here, you are guaranteed a meet and greet with Mickey himself along with some of his friends, a rotating cast of characters. The setting is grand, but warm and casual. Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa sits adjacent to Disney California Adventure Park, so it's just a hop, skip, and a jump into the parks when you finish up that breakfast!

Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures at Napa Rose in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is definitely a popular one that may have limited availability. This is currently the only dining option where young princesses and princes can mix and mingle with Disney Royalty. If a little one in your party has their heart set on this one, continue to check for openings ... and it never hurts to ask a Cast Member day-of if they've had any cancellations. No guarantees, of course, but sometimes the pixie dust does fly at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Last but certainly not least is Minnie & Friends Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn. Not surprisingly, this is a Guest favorite as it's located IN Disneyland Park with views of Sleeping Beauty Castle and who wouldn't want to start their day with the delightful Minnie Mouse?! Just a note that character dining is only available at breakfast, which is generally 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. so your reservation would need to fall within this window.

With a little faith, trust, and some dedicated refreshing, I'm hoping some of those reservations open up for you! Guests need to cancel a day prior, so that is a great day to keep checking for openings!
