Hi Ellen, and welcome to planDisney!
As the mom of two children with food allergies (one with gluten allergies and the other with a dairy allergy), I understand how important it is to ensure that everyone can find a variety of tasty foods that are accommodating to their specific allergies.
You will be happy to know that Walt Disney World Resort does a fantastic job of accommodating food allergies. If you review any menu, you will find allergy-friendly options that detail which allergy that dish is best suited for. When you make your dining reservations, be sure to make a note of the food allergy on the dining reservation, and let your server know when you arrive.
For reference, my daughter has many favorite restaurants that cater to her gluten allergy. Restaurants such as
Coral Reef Restaurant at EPCOT,
Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and
Narcoossee’s at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (currently closed) are a big hit. If you are looking for snack options, any of the baked treats at
Erin McKenna Bakery in Disney Springs are a "must-do" each visit, and we can not forget the Gluten-Free Beignets at
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory located in Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. What I have listed is only a fraction of the available options.
Please return if you have additional questions before arriving at
Walt Disney World in the coming days. We are here if you need us.
Have a magical experience!
Raquel
