Do some restaurants at Disneyland/California Adventure not take ADRs for single diners? Blue Bayou and Carthay Circle don't seem to have any availability for a party of 1.

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Charles. Thanks for stopping by planDisney!

Advanced Dining Reservations at the Disneyland Resort are a must for some of the coveted locations you mentioned, so it's good that you're planning! I've noticed that when booking dining reservations, party size often relates to the table sizes within a restaurant so sometimes changing my search parameters helps to find availability. I suggest booking a reservation for a party of two, and then modifying the reservation the day of with a Cast Member at check-in. I've found that Cast Members are willing to help with these types of minor modifications when they're able. This works in most cases, but I wouldn't necessarily try this for any special event dining that requires full payment at the time of the reservation booking. However, I believe that both Blue Bayou and Carthay Circle only require a credit card to guarantee the reservation and will only charge that card in case of a no-show.

If for some reason, you still can't find reservations for Blue Bayou or Carthay Circle, some restaurants offer the ability to join the Walk-Up List the day of your visit using the Disneyland Mobile App. You can also try visiting the restaurant in person to join the Walk-Up List or snag a later reservation time. For this strategy, getting to the restaurant as soon as it opens will allow you the best chance!

Charles, I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can answer any more of your planning questions. I'd be happy to help!

    See you in the parks,
