Hi Maribeth, and welcome to planDisney. With your visit coming up in just two more days, let’s chat about one of my favorite topics, Disney food!
It sounds like you’re looking to make dining reservations for next week. You can do that on the
Disney World website or through the
My Disney Experience app. If the restaurant you want doesn’t have availability, keep checking back over the next few days. Other guests are always changing their plans, and I’ve had good luck snagging hard-to-get reservations in the days leading up to my trip, or even on the day!
I also like to use the app to easily see everything that’s currently available. Go to ☰ in the lower right corner and press the Reserve Dining tile. On the next screen, you’ll input the number of people in your party, date (you can even select a range of dates), and time of day. There’s also the option to filter by location if you want to narrow the options by theme park area or Disney Springs.
If you’d rather play things by ear, you can also join the
walk-up list for select restaurants when you’re ready to eat. When you use the feature to check dining availability that I just mentioned, you’ll see a message that says Hungry Now? with a “Join a Walk-up List” button. This shows you all of the restaurants with walk-up lists. You can also search for a specific restaurant in the app. On their page, there will be a Join Walk-Up List button if it’s available. Another option is to
order food for pickup. It’s available for a handful of restaurants, including some of my favorites,
Kona Cafe and
Steakhouse 71. In the app, search “to go,” and you’ll see the restaurants pop up.
There’s so much amazing dining at Disney World that it can be hard to pick! If you’re looking for recommendations, some of my family’s must-dos include the character breakfast at
Topolino’s Terrace at Riviera Resort (the atmosphere and food feel more elevated than the average character meal and Mickey and friends are in their unique artist outfits!),
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant in Hollywood Studios (it features the cutest car-themed tables with classic diner food and delicious milkshakes!), and
Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge (a buffet with a mix of both African-inspired dishes and familiar favorites!).
I hope that your week is filled with lots of pixie dust and delicious meals! And if you have any other questions, we’re always here for you at planDisney.
