There was this restaurant during Reflections of Earth at Epcot where the food was flambeed. It was shown on the Disney vacation planning dvds and you were outside watching the show while your food was being prepared. What is that??

Hi Michele! After thinking long and hard I believe I have know the answer to your question.

Illuminations:Reflections of Earth is my favorite park night time spectacle on property. I have watched this show every year since its beginning and will continue until it is no longer an Epcot show.

There are a few locations around the water where guests can book private parties. It is at these locations where you will often find special desserts being prepared at the same time while watching the show. My daughter held one of her receptions at the Italy Isola area and she had bananas foster for one of her desserts which they prepared right there. So the photo you saw could easily have been one of these private parties.

The other thought was that it was a photo of the Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party. All guests can book this special event and it is held at the beginning of the World Showcase. You are offered a wonderful view of Illuminations and have a large variety of sweet desserts to choose from. They do not cook anything there during the party.

Hope this helps solve your question about what you saw on the planning DVD.
