Which resorts can you walk to particular theme parks at WDW?

    Hi Diane,

    Welcome to planDisney!

I love your thinking! My family also loves resort hotels that are within walking distance to one or more theme parks.

Our favorite resort hotel in the Disney Resorts Collection is Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa along with The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa because of the amenities and the lovely walking path to Magic Kingdom. It takes us about 10-15 minutes to walk to Magic Kingdom from here. On our most recent visit, we stayed at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. This resort has a walking path to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa so one night we walked from Magic Kingdom, through Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and to our room at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows. It took us about 30-35 minutes to make that trek. Disney's Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort also have a walking path to Magic Kingdom. It takes us about 5-7 minutes to walk to Magic Kingdom from this here. In addition to Walt Disney World® Bus Service, all of these resorts also have access to Walt Disney World® Monorail Transportation and Walt Disney World® Water Transportation.

Resort hotels within walking distance to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios include Disney's BoardWalk Inn, Disney's BoardWalk Villas, Disney's Beach Club Resort along with Disney's Beach Club Villas, and Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Although we love the rooms at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, we prefer Disney's BoardWalk Inn and the Villas because they are more centrally located to walk to both parks. From here, the walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios has taken us about 15-20 minutes and to EPCOT it has taken us about 10-15 minutes. At Disney's Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts, the walk to Disney's Hollywood Studios took us a solid 25 minutes in the summer heat on our most recent visit in July and the walk to EPCOT took about 10 minutes. All of these resorts have access to the Disney Skyliner and Walt Disney World Water® Transportation in addition to Walt Disney World® Bus Service.

Diane, I hope this helps! We prefer having a walking path option especially when we are leaving a park after a fireworks show. We can just walk back to our resort hotel instead of standing in long lines waiting on transportation.

Happy planning! Stop by again soon if you have another question!

    Magic and memories,
