Which resorts or villas at Disney World have both laminate flooring AND either a balcony or window that opens? This question is due to specific allergy requirements.

Hi there, Kelly! We're so happy you found us here at planDisney! While there is tons of information written about traveling with a food allergy at Walt Disney World Resort, it's important to recognize that guests can have other allergies that can impact their vacation. Not to worry...we're here to help!

First of all, I'm glad that you've decided to stay in the magic at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel! Rooms only at the Deluxe Resort Hotels and Deluxe Villas come with balconies, or if you are assigned a ground-floor room, it will have a patio-- so this narrows down our search a bit. Many of the rooms that have been recently refurbished have had the carpeting replaced with easier-to-clean laminate flooring; it's impressive how well it simulates real wood floors! Once we add in this factor, this is what the list looks like:

    Deluxe Villas (Deluxe Studios)
*Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
*Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa

    Deluxe Resort Hotels
*Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House)
    *Disney's Wilderness Lodge
*Disney's Yacht Club Resort (it is a dog-friendly hotel, so consider this if you have allergies to pets)
*Disney's Polynesian Village Resort (book the Standard hotel room. The Deluxe Studios have carpet)

**If you have a larger traveling party, think about The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort (these are also pet-friendly). They sleep up to 6 guests, and while they don't have a balcony, they have a small outdoor deck.

You might want to consider speaking to a Reservation Specialists within 48 hours of your arrival at (407) 939-1936 to request a special cleaning of your room and hypoallergenic bedding and towels. Depending on your needs, you may even be able to ask for fragrance-free cleaners to be used. You can also contact Disney's Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or email disability.services@disneyparks.com. This type of detailed cleaning used to be done by request in the past, and they can give you more details on whether it is still offered.

I hope you have a magical stay, Kelly! If there's anything else you need, remember, we're all ears!
