Hiya, Laura, and welcome to planDisney. I’m glad you stopped by with your question.
Here at planDisney, we’re a group of real Guests who love sharing our experiences, tips, and recommendations to help you plan your next visit to the
Most Magical Place on Earth. Think of us as your Disney-loving friends who have spent a lot of time figuring out what works and what doesn’t, and who enjoy helping others navigate all the options.
When you’re searching for
Disney Resort hotel rooms and you aren’t seeing any options for two-room accommodations, there’s a good chance you’re looking for something that falls into the
Deluxe Villa category. These are the Resorts that offer one-, two-, and three-bedroom villas with full kitchens, living areas, and laundry in the room. They’re great, especially for larger groups or Guests who want the comforts of home.
These Deluxe Villa Resorts are part of
Disney Vacation Club, which is Disney’s version of a vacation ownership program. Members purchase an allotment of points and can book their home resort 11 months out, and all other DVC Resorts 7 months out. Because Members get priority, cash-paying Guests usually don’t see much availability until about six months before their desired stay. So if you’re currently searching more than six months out, it’s very normal for everything to show as unavailable.
To test this, I plugged in a random weekend about five months from today, and sure enough, I found two-bedroom villa options at
Bay Lake Tower and
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa. So your best strategy is to pick your preferred date range now, have a backup or two, and log on exactly six months out at 6 AM eastern to check availability as it releases.
If you’re flexible and want to increase your odds, some of the larger Deluxe Villa Resorts tend to open up more frequently for cash stays. I’d take a close look at Saratoga Springs,
Old Key West, and
Animal Kingdom Villas. They have more villas overall, so you may find better luck there.
Laura, if you’d like help choosing between Resorts, comparing layouts, or coming up with a plan for your search window, come back to planDisney.
I’d be happy to help you narrow things down.
See you real soon,
Brent
