Hi - what resorts have kosher food at quick service locations and which are the most fun for kids to eat at? Traveling with kids ages 2-9.

Hey, howdy, hey Shaina, and welcome to planDisney. I was thinking we needed an information update about kosher dining when I was chowing on two kosher hot dogs from Rosie's All-American Cafe at Disney's Hollywood Studios about three weeks ago and your question is perfect timing about Kosher meal locations.

All Disney Resorts Collection hotels have kosher meals available at their quick-service and table service locations without advance notice and subject to availability. Quick-service locations provide little entertainment. They are places to grab a "quick bite" before you head out for fun and adventure. If you are looking to eat and explore Resort hotels, I think the Value Resorts are the most magical with larger-than-life statues of Disney Characters. Disney's Art of Animation Resort is where I would eat and explore.

Table service restaurants provide ambiance with or without entertainment. The entertainment is associated with Character Dining Experiences. I have found these to be the best:

    • 1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
    • Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort
    • Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
    • 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort

Kosher Meals at Walt Disney World Resort info:

    • Kosher food supplier (subject to change) at Walt Disney World Resort is Borenstein Caterer, Inc. out of Jamaica, NY. They are under the supervision of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (OU).
    • Kosher meal options are subject to availability at each location.
    • Kosher meals are steamed, double-wrapped airplane-style, and usually include a protein, a starch, and a vegetable. Wrapped dining utensils will also be provided if necessary.
    • All-you-care-to-enjoy (buffet) meals provide one kosher meal and are not all-you-care-to-enjoy. However, you will be charged the all-you-care-to-enjoy price.
    • Kosher meals take extra time to prepare. We have waited between 20 and 60 minutes and at certain times of the year (e.g., Yeshiva week in the United States and Sukkot) meals can take longer to prepare and with fewer options due to demand.
    • It is best to call and/or email Special Diets 14 days in advance (not 60 days) and have your kosher meal request placed on your table service dining reservation or requested for your quick-service location. The number to call is (407) 824-1391. The email address is Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com.
    • Kosher l'Pesach meals are available with 30 days' notice to Special Diets and have a more limited variety. Yes, they will come with matzah. Special Diets told me directly that as of today Kosher l'Pesach meals are not served at Disney's Hollywood Studios but the policy could change.

I think the most entertaining quick-service dining on the property is at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe In Magic Kingdom Park. Sonny Eclipse is the lounge host amusing everyone with his silly jokes and songs.

Shaina, I know this is a lot to digest (pun intended). Please feel free to reach out to me directly with any follow-up questions. I have embedded a couple of links to give you more insight on Kosher dining so be sure to click on them.

    Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
