Are there any resorts at Disney World that have good viewing for any type of star gazing at night? Or is there too much light from the amusement parks and resorts?

    Hi Scott,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking such an interesting question! I love the peace and tranquility that comes from looking up at the stars, so I can understand why you’d be curious about whether or not you can combine star gazing with a visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

I’ve stayed in almost all of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, and the two times that I can distinctly remember being able to see the stars was when we stayed in a studio at The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and in a Savanna View room at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. I’ve found that the outdoor lighting around Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge tends to be more dim, and I can remember a few nights where I sat on my balcony, sipping on a drink while watching the stars… and the animals!

The only other Resort Hotel that I can think of that would be good for star gazing would be the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground or in a Treehouse Villa at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Otherwise, I’ve found that the lighting in most of the Guest areas in the Resort Hotels is unfortunately too bright to be able to let me see many stars.

I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
