Hi Scott,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking such an interesting question! I love the peace and tranquility that comes from looking up at the stars, so I can understand why you’d be curious about whether or not you can combine star gazing with a visit to Walt Disney World Resort!
I’ve stayed in almost all of the Walt Disney World Resort Hotels, and the two times that I can distinctly remember being able to see the stars was when we stayed in a studio at
The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and in a Savanna View room at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. I’ve found that the outdoor lighting around Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge tends to be more dim, and I can remember a few nights where I sat on my balcony, sipping on a drink while watching the stars… and the animals!
The only other Resort Hotel that I can think of that would be good for star gazing would be the
Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground or in a Treehouse Villa at
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Otherwise, I’ve found that the lighting in most of the Guest areas in the Resort Hotels is unfortunately too bright to be able to let me see many stars.
I hope my answer helps you plan your upcoming vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
