At the resorts, what dates will the Christmas decor be up? Considering a self-guided tour. Boardwalk area 11/11/13 and the monorail resorts 11/14/13, any other impressive areas? Read the AKL is worth seeing as well. We are staying at CSR w/ a car. Thanks!

    Hi Jill!

Congratulations on your upcoming visit to Walt Disney World!
I absolutely LOVE touring the resort lobbies during the holiday season. The smell as you enter each lobby is simply heavenly! My favourite display is the Beach Club's gingerbread and chocolate carousel.

Holiday Decorations generally begin to be placed around the parks and resorts immediately following Halloween. While all displays may not be fully completed at the time of your arrival, there will most surely be plenty to see.

You've got some great plans in place for your self-guided tour. Around Disney's BoardWalk, all 3 Resorts (BoardWalk itself, Beach Club & Yacht Club) are definitely worth visiting - each with their own unique style, displays and bakeries.

Along the monorail, both Disney's Contemporary and Grand Floridian Resorts have particularly impressive and HUGE displays as well as shops from which to purchase a sampling of the goodies. Over at Disney's Polynesian Resort, there's usually a beautiful display of Poinsettias throughout the lush, indoor gardens. Definitely a great photo opportunity.

The enormous Christmas tree in Animal Kingdom Lodge's lobby is also worth a visit. I could spend hours looking at the authentically crafted decorations adorning the magnificent tree.

One last resort I'd love to add to your list is Disney's Wilderness Lodge. You can easily visit here during your Monorail touring day. Simply hop onto a boat at either Magic Kingdom or the Contemporary Resort to get there. The lobby is stunning with it's giant, rustic tree. Be sure to spend some time touring around outdoors at this beautiful and tranquil property while you're there!

I hope these tips help you with your touring plan Jill!
Wishing you a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World!
