    Do the resorts take cash

Hello, Dawn, and welcome to planDisney!

I’m so excited to hear that you have an upcoming visit to Walt Disney World Resort. You are just days away! Are you ready? Have you packed? Please don’t forget to save room for any shopping you may do and the new treasures you’ll bring home.

Dawn, you’ll be happy to hear that Walt Disney World Resorts do accept cash as a form of payment. I have paid the remaining balance of my room-only reservation using cash at check-in. It was such a great feeling because I had worked really hard to make that visit happen. I had spent the entire year collecting all my loose cash and budgeting for this trip. We stayed at Coronado Springs, which was also a new resort for my family to enjoy, so the whole trip was really special to us. It was also our first holiday spent away from family, and Walt Disney World felt like home. That trip has since then become a core memory.

I can’t wait to hear about all the new core memories you’ll make in the upcoming week. Especially since you will also be visiting during the holidays. Save room to enjoy the Cookie Stroll at EPCOT during the International Festival of the Holidays. There are so many sweet treats to try, so I highly recommend splitting your treats and snacks with those you are traveling with. TIP: You can also pay for those treats with cash!

Before I go, I do want to reassure you that, along with paying for your resort with cash, you can also complete your other purchases with cash. Food and merchandise purchased at your resort can also be paid for with cash. I also recommend considering turning your cash into a Disney Gift Card! That way, you can store your budgeted money in one convenient location. You can even purchase your Disney Gift Card at the merchandise store in your resort once you arrive. This is usually what my family does since the grandparents usually give my little ones souvenir money. And turning it into a gift card helps my husband and me keep better track of their money and purchases.

Dawn, I hope this helps answer your question. Take time to double-check your plans this week and be sure to add any last-minute dining reservations now as well.

    Have the most magical visit!
