Since there are only 3 resorts to buy into right now,I have some ?s regarding a home resort. We are in Ca&can see us going to Aulani aswell but WDW will win out more.Is the main drawback not being able to book 11 mo out? What else is there to consider?

Howdy Brandy!  Once again, GREAT QUESTION!  I have gone back and forth on this and after a long discussion with my hubby, our suggestion is to select Aulani as your home resort.

The 11 month booking window is HUGE.  With Aulani as your home resort, you increase your likelihood of not only getting a reservation at Aulani but also in the room type that you prefer when you book at the 11 month window.

Further, with Aulani as you home resort, you will be able to book other Disney Vacation Club Resorts at the 7 month window.  Because there are a greater number of resorts at Walt Disney World Resort, you will have a higher likelihood of getting a reservation.  You may not be in the resort or room type that is your first choice but all of the DVC Resorts are wonderful an you should be able to find a villa that accommodates your party size.

One other thing to consider will be the maintenance fees.  You will want to speak with your Disney Vacation Club guide regarding this matter.  I do not know all of the particulars with regards to all of the fees but they will be able to provide you with all of the information that you need.

Thanks again for your questions!  Please keep me updated and let me know if you need any further information.  Have a magical day!!
