What resorts are best for toddlers; convenience, amenities, etc.? What would make our trip easier with traveling to Florida from the West Coast, i.e. can we rent strollers?

    Hi Amanda!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We have been visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with our kiddos since they were small, and one of the things we enjoy about a Disney vacation is how convenient everything is!

Since you’ll be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, no need to rent a car or pack car seats! Sign up for Disney’s Magical Express and leave the driving to Mickey. He’ll even pick up your checked baggage and deliver it to your room. We never need a car as we use Disney resort buses, Monorail, boats and the Skyliner to get around the resort.

For some families, being close to the Magic Kingdom is a top priority. Disney’s Contemporary Resort and the adjoining Bay Lake Tower are walking distance to the park. You’ll also be able to hop the Monorail for transportation to Epcot, and one of the most popular Disney Character Dining Experiences on property is located right there at Chef Mickey’s.

If you are looking for a Moderate Level Resort, I recommend Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. This was the first Disney Resort Hotel I stayed at and it is still a favorite. This resort has an amazing pool area and now offers easy transportation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot on the Disney Skyliner. You can roll a single stroller right onto a gondola car!  If you are interested in a Value Resort, Disney’s Pop Century is my favorite and it also has access to the new Skyliner!

Disney parks can be a lot of walking, so I highly recommend either bringing small umbrella strollers or renting a stroller. You can rent strollers in the parks themselves on a daily or length of stay basis, but those need to stay in the parks. I recommend Disney’s Featured Provider ScooterBug, who will deliver your stroller directly to your resort! This way you will have the stroller throughout your stay and not just inside the theme parks. Do know that strollers must meet size requirements, so if you will be bringing your own, you will want to check to make sure you meet the guidelines.
