Welcome to planDisney, Jillian!
My husband and I like to daydream about moving to Orlando so we can just pop over to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for a DOLE Whip from
Pineapple Lanai, or to Disney’s Beach Club Resort for a No Way Jose sundae at
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop. Mickey would be a dream neighbor!
I’m glad you checked in with us. While things seem to be changing constantly during the
phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, the rules around visiting Disney Resorts Collection hotels have not yet changed. Currently, to visit a resort hotel, you must be a registered Guest of that hotel or have a Table-Service Dining Reservation there. It’s my understanding that flexibility around that rule is at the discretion of the Security Cast Members, but particularly at monorail or Disney’s BoardWalk area resorts, this rule is pretty steadfast. The
Resort Hotels Know Before You Go web page is a great source for the most up-to-date information.
I also recommend reading the
Disney Parks Blog for the latest updates and news from the Walt Disney World Resort. It’s always exciting to see what’s new or returning, and I like to follow them on social media for my daily dose of Disney. Your friendly planDisney panelists are also on social media; follow us on Instagram at @planDisneyPanel for just-in-time “Panelists in the Park” features, which are dispatches from around the Disney Parks. I love seeing what my fellow Panelists are doing, snacking on, and sharing!
Thanks for stopping by today, Jillian! I hope you’re able to get your favorite resort hotel meal or treat sometime soon – and have an extra bite for me, please!
Wishing you a great big beautiful tomorrow,
Robyn
