Hello, dear Mary!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing such a joyful question to our website! It's a real pleasure to help you plan for a visit during the most wonderful time of the yEAR!
I'm happy to share that there are MANY glorious places to visit at the Walt Disney World Resort during the holidays. My favorite resort for decorations is, by far,
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. It holds the
most extensive collection of African art and artifacts outside of the African continent. That, on itself, is remarkable. During the holidays, though, visitors can enjoy the western holiday decoration traditions and then learn from the artifacts and understand the contrasts and similarities between the cultures connected by this resort. You can also combine this visit with a meal at
Sanaa,
Jiko - The Cooking Place, or
Boma - Flavors of Africa. For my husband and me, it's always a must!
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is also a great choice, as it offers a traditional Christmas experience with a huge tree, a happy fireplace, and a lot of mesmerizing lights.
The holidays at the Walt Disney World Resort go way beyond the trees and cultural experiences, though. Visiting the gingerbread displays is also a lot of fun! The one at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is my favorite. The smell will make you smile every time you remember it!
You will be able to find more information about the other gingerbread displays on
this Disney Parks Blog post. You may enjoy a visit to Disney’s Beach Club Resort Gingerbread Carousel, or even Disney’s BoardWalk Resort Gingerbread Display.
I hope that these tips help you create a fun Christmas decoration itinerary to enjoy with your grandson, Mary. If you have any more questions before your trip is here, please, let us know. We love to help!
May the magic be with you,
Julie
