Welcome to planDisney, Maricarmen! I'm so glad to be able to answer a question for a fellow Texan today. Planning a trip for a larger group, especially with last-minute changes, can definitely add a few extra logistics, but let's walk through it together.
So here's the deal: the room capacity listed for each
Disney Resort hotel room is set based on safety regulations, so unfortunately, Disney can't allow more people in a room than what it's officially designated to hold. That includes everyone, even kids. However, there's a little wiggle room in some cases. If the extra guest is an
infant or toddler under the age of 3, it may be possible to add them to the room over the stated capacity.
But if the additional guest is over the age of 3, then unfortunately, it's not something that can be added as an exception. I know that's probably not the news you were hoping for, especially when switching to a larger room isn't in the budget, but don't worry! Your best next step is to
call Disney Resort Hotel Reservations directly and explain the situation. The Cast Members are fantastic at helping families find creative solutions. They may be able to walk you through room types that still meet your needs without a huge price jump or suggest a way to split your party in two rooms and still remain close to your budget.
Every family's situation is unique, and there may be options available you haven't considered yet. So don't lose hope! Give them a call and talk it through. Fingers crossed, you can find a solution that will help everything fall into place.
Have a magical day!
