What Resort restaurants do you recommend for a party of 6 ages 7-64 with a shellfish allergy? We have done the Luau at Polynesian and Chef Mickey and would like to try something new. Prefer something on the dining plan. Celebrating 3 birthdays this trip!

    Hi Melanie,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another question. My husband has a shellfish allergy too, and we’ve never worried about food safety during our visits to Walt Disney World Resort. We’ve even eaten at shellfish-heavy restaurants such as Coral Reef Restaurant in Epcot and The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs and he has always found something delicious to eat!

Because of how accommodating all of the restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort are for people with allergies and because it’s relatively easy to work around a shellfish allergy, the only constraint regarding your choice of restaurant is your party’s personal tastes when it comes to food. Some of my favourite places to visit in a “gang” would be dinner at 1900 Park Fare at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (probably our favourite character dinner), any restaurant in World Showcase (with a special mention of Restaurant Marrakesh and Biergarten Restaurant) and 50’s Prime Time Café at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can’t go wrong with any of those choices, especially for 3 birthday celebrations!

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne

Hi, I’m Lynne from Montreal, Quebec, Canada! I’m a working mom who enjoys snuggles with my son and my husband, who has been my sweetheart since 1997. We’ve been lucky enough to experience several milestones in Walt Disney World, including our wedding and honeymoon in 2009. As Disney Vacation Club members, we often plan trips for large, and sometimes even multi-generational, groups to come and enjoy the fun with us. Learn More About Lynne
