Hello Lorraine! Thank you for bringing such a great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your seven-year-old is going to have a magical visit in October!
Your first choice of
Magic Kingdom Park is excellent! I strongly recommend a visit to Mickey's PhilharMagic, Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid, "it's a small world," Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Peter Pan's Flight, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and, yes, if you have a brave little one, a visit to the Haunted Mansion is just phenomenal!
Your second park choice should really be about your little one's interests! For example, if you have watched Toy Story as much as we have in our house, then you will want to visit
Toy Story Land in
Disney's Hollywood Studios! If you have a Padawan at home who yearns to become one with the Force then, again, Disney's Hollywood Studios, containing
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, is a must! Also, if visiting this park I strongly encourage a visit to
Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway! This is the newest attraction in the park! Here Goofy will be your engineer into a world of cartoon magic with Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Pluto!
Disney's Animal Kingdom contains family favorites including the
Festival of the Lion King! We never miss the chance to see our favorite characters and hear our favorite music combined with acrobatic stunts at this stunning show ! We also really enjoy Kilimanjaro Safari as an opportunity to see the amazingly beautiful inhabitants of this park in a natural setting!
Lorraine, be sure to check out all of the attractions and experiences offered in all four of the Disney Parks by visiting the
Walt Disney World Resort website! Here you will find a complete listing of every attraction. You can also sort attractions by age and height requirements which is a great planning tool for parents!
