I have a resort reservation with dining plan and tickets. I have tried exploring the Disney genie part of the app but once I have signed in I am asked to link my park tickets or buy some. How can I get this to work?

    Hi Nichola,

Welcome to planDisney! If the vacation date you provided is correct, you are getting an awesome head start on your vacation planning! Booking your Disney Resort, tickets, and dining plan in one package crosses a lot of items off your vacation checklist!

In my experience, the Disney Genie service will allow you to select dates and theme parks in the future, but it will tell you if Guests from your Family & Friends List are not eligible to join your party if they don’t have an eligible ticket, pass, or Disney Park Pass reservation. You may need to scroll ahead to your vacation dates before you can move forward with Disney Genie.

Since you mentioned exploring the Disney Genie area of the app, let’s go through the steps of linking your package to your account while in My Disney Experience. Click the ☰ button in the bottom right of the screen and scroll down to “Account.” Click “Link to Account” and tab over to “Type ID.” Typically, entering your Resort Reservation Confirmation Number and Last Name would link all parts of your package to your account. However, if you have a separate ticket ID number, you can also use that to link your tickets from this page.  Your dining plan should appear on your My Disney Experience app once you check in to your Disney Resort. In the app, visit your Resort Reservation and select “Check Dining Plan” to see a breakdown of your dining plan credits.

The linking process can also be completed on the Walt Disney World website under “My Plans.” Scroll down to “My Plans, Reservations and Tickets” and click “+ Add More Plans.” Select “Link Reservations and Purchases” from the drop-down menu. If you’re unable to link your package by following these steps, I recommend calling the number listed under “Tickets and Hotel Reservations” for assistance from a Cast Member.

I hope these steps work for you, Nichola! I always have fun exploring the My Disney Experience app and Walt Disney World website as I daydream about future vacations! If you have any more questions as you prepare for your Walt Disney World trip, we’re here to help at planDisney!
