HI Sue! The next race at Walt Disney World in Florida is the Tower of Terror 10-Miler. The race will begin and end at Hollywood Studios and there will even be an after-party at the park.
You definitely want to choose a resort that is a host resort for that event. The host resorts are the only ones that offer bus transportation to and from all race weekend events. This means you won't have to be bothered with arranging cab service, or driving yourself. This is especially helpful on race day, as traffic can be pretty bad.
There are host resorts at all different budget levels. If budget isn't an issue, the deluxe resorts are awesome! My family loves staying at either the Beach Club, Yacht Club, or Boardwalk Inn resorts. They are all three within walking distance to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. They are all also host resorts for Tower of Terror 10-Miler weekend.
