Which resort would you recommend for a family of 3 (including a 4 year old) for early December-Cabins or Coronado Springs? Coronado is much cheaper right now, but the cabins sound like so much fun! Is it worth the extra money for the cabins?

Hi Kristin!  I love both of these Disney moderate resorts but you will definitely find a different experience at each.

Coronado Springs is a convention resort and thus has some options many of the other moderates will not include.  The biggest draw for some families is that each room will have queen beds versus the doubles.  This resort also has added things such as a business center and spa and health club facilities.

Fort Wilderness is indeed a different experience.  My family enjoys staying in this area as it is close to a camping feel with the peacefulness and smell of the pine trees.  The cabins are very private and some families prefer them since they have a separate bedroom and living area.  This allows the young children to head to bed early while the parents watch tv and dvd's.  They also include a fully equipped kitchen so your dining charges can be less depending on how much you would want to cook.

Before making your final decision sit down as a family together and decide what kind of experience you are hoping to have with your Disney vacation. Think about how much money you might save having a kitchen and if that is not something you wish to use then the extra money is most likely not going to be worth it for this trip.

Wherever you go I am sure you will have a magical vacation!
