Howdy, April!
Multi-generational trips to Walt Disney World Resort are incredibly magical. I still remember watching fireworks above Cinderella Castle from the balcony of Disney's Contemporary Resort with my grandmother forty years ago. It's wonderful that your children will have the chance to make long-lasting vacation memories with their grandparents soon.
Is your travel party comprised of six people (2 parents, 2 children and 2 grandparents)? If so, there are many options for budget-minded families of this size. It sounds as if the pool at your Walt Disney World Resort hotel will play a key role in your vacation. Let's keep that in mind as we select a hotel because visiting the pools at hotels other than the one at which you're staying is not permitted. Each pool is for the exclusive use of Guests registered at that hotel.
If a pool slide is important to your children, then you should look at the moderate hotels.
Ol' Man Island at
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is a water play area that would provide your family with hours of fun. In addition to the main themed pool, there are five additional quiet pools that are available 24 hours per day. Two connecting standard rooms at this hotel would accommodate your travel party nicely.
If a water slide is not a necessity, consider two connecting rooms at
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort. The guest rooms in the Toy Story portion of this resort have recently undergone an impressive renovation. These beautiful, comfortable new rooms offer the added advantage of value resort pricing.
