    when do the resort and park monorail start running? i see different times from panel, disney website says an hour before the park opens, so on5/19/12,it'll be 8am?if we drive to the MK park from Hilton Orlando, how would we make 7:20am breakfast@ ChefM?

    Hi Lin!

    Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

    Officially, the monorail doesn't start running until 1 hour before the Magic Kingdom opens.  In the past, however, it has often started sooner and a lot of panelists, including me, remember those days.  However, this year Disney has been doing construction in the Magic Kingdom area and maintenance on the monorail line.  I think it is best to play it safe at the moment and assume the monorail will not be running until an hour before park opening.

    Since your breakfast is at 7:20 at Chef Mickey's, I suggest just driving directly there.  Chef Mickey's is located in the Contemporary Resort.  Just tell the Disney Cast Member at the entrance to the parking lot that you are there for a reservation at Chef Mickey's.  Be sure to have your dining confirmation number with you.  If Walt Disney World is busy when you go, then you might be given a temporary parking pass that is only good for a few hours; if that's the case, you will have to drive your car from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom parking lot after you eat.
