Hey there, Paula! Welcome back to planDisney! Grout minds think alike because I was just looking at the mosaic class at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort for an upcoming trip.
As a fellow crafter, I'm always on the lookout for options to bring home a unique souvenir, and I'm happy to share there are many opportunities to highlight your tile-ents with mosaics at Walt Disney World. I chatted with a Cast Member and found an abundance of classes for you. Let's break this apart.
As I mentioned, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort has classes than can be booked on the
My Disney Experience Mobile App beginning 60 days before your arrival date and are held Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Dahlia Lounge.
Disneys Animal Kingdom Lodge also has a mosaic class that can be booked through
Tours and Recreation. It's on Tuesdays from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM in the Palace Library located in Kidani Village.
Other resorts have classes than can be booked directly through the resort. I've crafted a list for you.
- Disney's All-Star Music Resort - held Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Disney's Art of Animation Resort - held Saturdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Disney's Contemporary Resort - held Mondays and Fridays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Disney's Old Key West Resort - held Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
- Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter - held Wednesdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside - held Sundays and Thursdays from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
- Disney's Riviera Resort - held Sundays and Thursdays from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Disney's Saratoga Spring Resort & Spa - held Mondays from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
I also learned that Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas has mosaic crafting as an ongoing activity in the Community Hall available from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.
As you can see, these activities last about 2 hours. In each one, you get to pick your base and your tiles and decorate to your heart's content.
Paula, I know you are interested in a castle as a base, so I did some searching. I found a few photos online that indicate others have found the base you are looking for at Disney's BoardWalk Inn & Villas. I haven't seen it there personally, and I do know that bases can vary by location and are subject to availability. So, specific bases are never guaranteed. I hope I haven't shattered your expectations.
Another similar activity is at
Glaskunst in EPCOT located in Germany. They have several versa-tile glass-making projects to choose from, another unique souvenir or gift.
Speaking of EPCOT, did you know that
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival begins shortly after you arrive? I hope you get an opportunity to check out the beautiful topiaries, enjoy limited-time snacks and beverages at Outdoor Kitchens or take in a show as part of the Garden Rocks Concert Series.
Paula, I hope you get to take home your very own work of art, and please come back to planDisney with any other questions you have.
Have a magical trip!
Melanie
