How do we get from resort hotels to Theme park? Do we need a park hopper if we are only doing 1 park each day?

Hi there, Robyn, and welcome to planDisney!

Believe it or not, your upcoming visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth is just around the river bend. I may be a bit biased because I’m a super Disney fan, but this is going to be a trip that you will never forget. From the endless happy surprises (you never know when a character will pop up to say “hello”) to the thrilling attractions (hopefully Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is on your must-dos list), you are in for quite the adventure.

To get from one place to another when vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort, you’ll want to either use paid or complimentary transportation. Let’s talk about the paid options first. Of course, once you arrive in Florida, you can rent a vehicle through a third-party business. I’m a local, so driving my own vehicle is my go-to mode of transportation and you get free parking at the hotel and Disney Parks when staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. You can also use the paid Minnie Van Service (via the Lyft app). This is a super quick way to go to and from your hotel to the theme parks.

The complimentary options are plentiful! You can take a Disney bus service from your hotel to each of the four theme parks, the water parks (like Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon), and Disney Springs shopping area. Depending on which Disney hotel you’re staying at, other modes of transportation are available to you as well. For example, if you’re staying at a hotel near Disney’s BoardWalk, you can take a water taxi or even walk to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’re staying at a hotel around the Seven Seas Lagoon, you can take the Disney Monorail to Magic Kingdom Park or EPCOT. Some hotels are connected to The Most Magical Flight on Earth: the Disney Skyliner! Feel free to revisit me here at planDisney and I can give you more specific options.

AN EXTRA GEM: You do not need a theme park ticket with a Park Hopper Option if you plan on visiting one theme park a day. The Park Hopper Option is to help Guests who want to visit more than one theme park in a day. I hope that helps!

Robyn, please don’t hesitate to give us a holler here at planDisney if you have additional questions. I’m all ears!

    Magic always,
