Which resort hotel would be better to stay at with a 6yr old and 3 yr old? The Grand Floridian or The Animal Kingdom Loadge?

    Hi Nachole!

I think young children would appreciate the Animal Kingdom Lodge over the Grand Floridian.

First, let me say there is no doubt that the Grand Floridian is a great hotel.  It has wonderful dining for both adults and children.  It is the flagship hotel of the Walt Disney World Resort.  My Aunt thinks there is nowhere else worth staying on property and there are a lot of guests who feel the same way.

However, I don't love it.  I don't think children love it.  That's mainly because I don't think children understand the theming.  I think children would rather be in the Wilderness Lodge, the Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Polynesian, or even the Contemporary.  I don't believe children necessarily understand the theming of the Contemporary; I just believe they think it's cool to see the monorail going inside it!

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great hotel and the theming is spectacular.  If you stay there I definitely recommend getting a savannah view room.  I think most children enjoy seeing animals right outside their window!  The pool is also fantastic.
