Hey there, hi there, Shelley! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney. I'm so glad that you've stopped by with such a great
Disney Vacation Club question.
Shelley, don't you just
love being a DVC Member?! Knowing that your next magical adventure is always just around the riverbend is priceless, and using your Membership to travel to fabulous Disney destinations around the world is the pixie-dusted icing on the magical Membership cake. But with Vacation Points, Exchanges and booking guidelines, it can sometimes be as confusing as it is magical. That's what we at planDisney are here for, and I'm more than happy to answer your question today!
When eligible DVC Members convert their Vacation Points to Reservation Points and
book a Disney Collection Exchange vacation, a non-refundable transaction fee is applied at the time of confirmation. Since the Disney Collection exchange experiences are not DVC-owned, currently, a non-refundable transaction fee of $95 (prices subject to change) is charged by the vacation company into which you're exchanging, such as Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line and more. The fee simply covers the transaction of the exchange.
Did you know that currently,
the Disneyland Resort Hotels don't charge DVC Members a transaction fee? That sounds like a perfect excuse to visit The Happiest Place on Earth, if you ask me! I just returned home from a fabulous stay at Disneyland Hotel, and with its close proximity to ... well, EVERYTHING and the most magical headboard I've ever seen, it's the practically perfect magical home away from home. Happy booking, Shelley!
I hope this was helpful, Shelley, and I hope you book the vacation of your dreams! If I misunderstood your question or you have any other questions along the way, please feel free to
stop back by and ask me. You've got a friend in planDisney!
Adventure is out there!
