Hi Katie!
It sounds like you are busy planning a wonderful vacation that will be practically perfect in every way for everyone in your group! There are so many
complimentary resort transportation options around Walt Disney World Resort that getting to the magic can also be part of the fun! In fact, some of my fellow panelists recently shared some of their
favorite tips for Disney transportation that you might want to check out on the Disney Parks Blog.
Katie, all four theme parks are wonderful, but no trip to Walt Disney World Resort is complete without visiting
Magic Kingdom Park! Since it sounds like you agree, I'd recommend looking at one of the properties on the monorail for the easiest access.
Disney's Contemporary Resort was perfect when we traveled with our little one in a stroller because you not only could use the monorail to get to the park but there is also a short walkway (just about a 10 - 15 minute walk) that you can use for the quickest entry. This means that you don't need to break down a stroller on your way to Magic Kingdom - that's a big bonus!
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa also have access to the monorail as well as water transportation to Magic Kingdom. These three properties have standard rooms in addition to
villas to accommodate larger parties. You can even view the Happily Ever After fireworks from these resorts as well! Another plus of these properties is the great
character dining locations that your little one is sure to love - Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary, 'Ohana at the Polynesian (characters at breakfast only), and 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian.
While I'm partial to Magic Kingdom Park, my husband's absolute favorite park each time we visit is
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. There's something very relaxing about watching the animals roam the savanna on
Kilimanjaro Safaris and walking through
Pandora - The World of Avatar as darkness sets in and the park comes to life around you. Regardless of where you stay, the complimentary transportation option for Animal Kindom will be a bus. Since all of the transportation to Animal Kingdom is the same, I'd lean toward the convenience of staying on the monorail for Magic Kingdom. On the day you visit Animal Kingdom, you may also want to consider using a
Minnie Van. You can reserve one of these cute polka-dot vans through the Lyft app. Each can accommodate up to 6 guests and has 2 car seats available. While you will pay for this service, it may provide a level of convenience for your group!
Katie, I wish you the best as you continue to plan for your upcoming vacation! Remember you are always welcome to be our guest here at planDisney and we hope to see you again real soon!
Cheers,
Kristi
