Which resort would be best for a large group, while also being convenient to Magic Kingdom?

    Hi Deirdre!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Three of my best mom-friends and I visited Mickey this last May. It was us, our collective five Mouseketeers (all who were under age three), two traditional guest rooms, and zero spouses. We had the best time that best friends could have ever had, but it would have been nice to have a bit more space. (And more bathrooms.)

Walt Disney World Resort has over 25 distinct Resort Hotels that range in theme, location and budget. While all different, they all include so many great perks, like resort transportation, Extra Magic Hours, and the ability to charge purchases to the credit card on file for your guest room using your MagicBand.

You have quite a few options that are literal steps away from Magic Kingdom Park. Sometimes known as the 'Monorail Loop Resorts', these are Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. (Pro Tip: Don't overlook Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary!) Between these resorts you'll find everything from traditional guest rooms to multi-bedroom suites, even overwater bungalows.

If you don't mind not being within walking distance, there's a complimentary water taxi from Magic Kingdom Park to both the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort as well as Disney's Wilderness Lodge. The Cabins are individual units that can sleep six adults and feature full-size kitchens, while some rooms at the Lodge have fireworks views.

Bonus Tip: Check out the Moms Panel Video Library for more resort hotel tips!

We'll See You Real Soon, Deirdre!
