Hi there Nanette, and welcome to planDisney!
Ooh, I like how you think! Food is an integral part of my Walt Disney World vacations, and I'm a little embarrassed to share how much time I spend perusing menus and dreaming about Disney snacks before a visit. Luckily I seem to be in good company among my fellow panelists, and we frequently send each other pictures of new Disney foods we can't want to try. Be sure to check out
this Panel Extra featuring some of our favorite dishes!
As you might know, during the
current phase of reopening, not all dining experiences are available. I have enjoyed stays at three different Disney Resort Hotels since the theme parks reopened last summer, and while I had excellent meals and snacks during all of my trips, for the best food right now, I recommend
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and
Disney's Riviera Resort.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa features two table-service restaurants,
one quick-service establishment, and
one lounge for Guests to enjoy at this time. Additionally, this resort offers access to the monorail and restaurants like The Wave and California Grill at
Disney's Contemporary Resort. You'll have multiple casual and signature meals at your doorstep and just a short monorail ride away.
Disney's Riviera Resort boasts a stunning rooftop restaurant with some of the best views in Walt Disney World.
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera serves a delicious prix fixe breakfast with Mickey Mouse and friends in attendance and a signature dinner sans characters in the evening.
The quick-service restaurant,
Primo Piatto, located on the ground level near the swimming pools offers several more upscale entrees not found on a typical quick-service menu. We treated ourselves to the Croque Madame and Blueberry-Lemon Pancakes at breakfast and enjoyed several delicious entrees at lunch; the plant-based Grilled Vegetable Skewer was my favorite!
Coffee cravings and sweet tooths can be satisfied at
Le Petit Café, and snacks and libations are available at
Bar Riva. In my opinion, Disney's Riviera Resort has the best variety and quality of options for foodies at this time. Bonus: the international culinary delights of EPCOT's World Showcase are just a short flight away on the
Disney Skyliner.
Nanette, no matter where you choose, you'll find plenty of ways to indulge on your Disney vacation. Thanks again for stopping by to chat about one of my favorite topics, and once you have chosen your Resort Hotel, come back and see us again; we'll have lots of tips for making the most of your stay and finding the tastiest treats.
Bon appétit!
