Kenneth from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We’re Fl residents and we purchased the silver annual passes and we have yet to activate them. Since silver pass is no longer avail, if we activate next month, would the pass change to pirate pass? Which blackout dates would apply, silver or pirate pass?

Hey there, Kenneth. I'm so glad you've stopped by planDisney to talk with me about Walt Disney World Annual Passes. I've been a Passholder for years now and absolutely love it.

Kenneth, when I saw your question yesterday, I was actually at Walt Disney World. I was pretty sure I knew the answer but I swung in Guest Relations at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park just to confirm my hunch. Because your silver level annual pass has not yet been activated, when you do so you will switch over to the all-new Pirate Pass.

The Pirate Pass is available for Florida residents, like yourself, and includes access to all four Walt Disney World Theme Parks with park hopping privileges. You'll be able to visit most days of the year but are subject to holiday blackout dates which total up to about 75 days out of the year. You'll be able to hold up to 4 park pass reservations at a time without a resort stay booked. Discounts include up to 20% off of merchandise, food and select resort stays throughout the year and, of course, complimentary theme park parking!

When you activate your Walt Disney World Annual Pass, you'll be able to enjoy all of the magic for the next 12 months. Your expiration date starts from the first time you enter a Walt Disney World Theme Park using your annual pass, not from the date you've purchased it.

If you have more specific questions about making the switch from the Silver Pass that you intended to purchase over to the Pirate Pass you can always reach out to the V.I.PASSHOLDER Support team, which is another perk of being a passholder, via the contact form I am linking for you. You can also call a dedicated Passholder phone number to speak with a Cast Member in person at 407-WDW-PASS.

I hope this helps, Kenneth. If you have any other questions about becoming a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder, I'd love for you to reach back out and ask me. I'm happy to help!

    Have a great day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
