We have FL resident silver passes, can we upgrade to gold passes or do I have to wait till they expire ?

Hi Michael, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

The Florida Resident Annual Pass Program gives us Floridians so many ways to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. I love being able to spend the day at my favorite place pretty much whenever I like. It's just one of the many perks of life in the Sunshine State!

While the Silver Pass is a perfect option for many families, upgrading to a Gold Pass gives you even more great benefits, like fewer blockout dates and unlimited Disney PhotoPass photo downloads. I can see why you might want to bump up! And you absolutely can upgrade at any time, Michael. If you're outside the renewal window for your current passes (60 days before and 30 days after it expires), you'll need to visit a Guest Relations location in the Theme Parks or Disney Springs to upgrade in person. You'd simply pay the difference between the Silver and Gold Pass price, and your original expiration date would still apply to your new pass. You just need to provide proof of Florida residency before activating your new Florida Resident Annual Pass.

I hope this helps you plan lots of Disney days ahead, Michael. Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
