Welcome to planDisney, Kimberly!
It sounds like you're a pretty fantastic gift-giver. You're the kind of parent/grandparent I aspire to be one day. What better gift than a ticket to The Most Magical Place on Earth? As you already know, the Walt Disney World Resort has some magical discounts for Florida residents. I'm not going to lie, I've definitely thought about relocating so that I can take advantage of those deals!
However, I have to give you a not-so-magical answer, Kimberly. Unfortunately, only people currently residing in Florida can take advantage of the
Florida Residents discounts. All Guests over the age of 18 are required to show
valid proof of residency in order to activate their ticket. For example, they can show a Florida driver's license, a Florida state-issued ID card, or a Florida-based military ID. You can, however, purchase discounted tickets for your grandchildren (as long as they are under 18). However, you would need to be present to show your proof of residency in order to activate the tickets before the first use.
For your other family members, you'd need to purchase
standard theme park tickets, which allow them to visit one park per day. You could also upgrade those tickets with the
Park Hopper Option.
Whatever tickets you choose to purchase, Kimberly, don't forget to make those
theme park reservations!
I hope that's helpful, Kimberly. Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney.
Mike
