Hi Jere,
We are so happy you found your way to planDisney with your question. We love helping fellow Guests plan their visits to the Happiest Place on Earth. I can see that you are thinking about a trip just a few weeks from now, so let's get right to your question.
The
SoCal Resident Ticket Offer is a great way to experience the parks over the next few months for Guests that fall within the eligibility requirements. Residents who live within ZIP codes 90000 to 93599 have the opportunity to purchase these tickets, but will need to provide a valid government-issued photo ID with proof of residency for both purchase and admission. This is typically a California Driver's License or California ID. We have confirmed with Cast Members that utility bills and other documents without the photo ID do not qualify. I know this was not the pixie dusted news you were hoping for, Jere! The SoCal Resident Tickets expire May 15, 2025, so there is quite a bit of runway for that magic carpet in the event that you are able to secure an ID ahead of that time. Park tickets can be used on non-consecutive days (this is my favorite perk of this ticket offer!) so you can really spread out the magic over the next few months.
If applying for an ID is not the cards for you, I'd recommend taking a look at the "
Offers & Discounts" on the
Disneyland Resort website. You'll find any current promotions for Disneyland Resort tickets, hotel packages, and more. When I looked this morning, there is a
Kids' Special Ticket Offer which may be of interest to you if you have little Mouseketeers in your party. This offers runs now through March 20th, 2025 and offers both discounted hotel stays and theme park tickets for those Guests who are 9 and under. As I'm sitting here in chilly Philly, I'm looking at our calendar trying to find a window where I can take advantage of this offer myself!
While you are sorting out your tickets, you might also want to consider booking a
dining reservation or two. Generally, most dining reservations can be canceled 2 - 24 hours ahead of time, so even if you make a few now, you can decide later if it still makes sense for your day. I usually put an alert in my phone for an hour before the cancellation deadline to prompt my family to make a final decision based on where we are in our day. If you want to be a bit more fluid, once you are in the parks you can look at the
Mobile Dine Walk-Up Availability in the Disneyland Mobile App. This will show you table-service restaurants near your location that have openings. You never know, sometimes you can get a coveted table at a restaurant that is typically booked!
Jere, I hope this was helpful in your planning and that you will be on your way to the magic very soon. If you have any more questions, you know where to find us here at
planDisney.
