Hi! I reserved the Wild Africa Trek at 8 AM in April. The park opens at 8 so buses start at 7. Will we be able to take a bus or is it too late? Also, is there any chance we might see Augustus? Thank you!

    Hi Brenda!

Are you getting excited about participating in the Wild Africa Trek? I am. I have plans to do the Wild Africa Trek with my husband and son in a few weeks and I can't wait!

If Disney's Animal Kingdom is scheduled to open at 8 a.m. on the day of your scheduled tour, you should be able to travel by Disney bus and reach the park in time for your Wild Africa Trek start time. Just be on that first 7 a.m. bus of the day. You only need to sign in 15 minutes ahead of your tour start time. Of course, many people will likely be at the bus stop at that hour. Many will be headed to Pandora - The World of Avatar in the hopes of catching a shorter queue than normal for Avatar Flight of Passage. If you'd prefer to avoid the crowd at the bus stop, just arrange for an inexpensive private car service to pick you up at your hotel instead. That's what I plan to do. Then I don't have to worry about transportation. I can just focus on the excitement of the Wild Africa Trek instead. If you want to arrange for a private car service, you should do so at least 24 hours in advance.

We don't know what a typical day looks like for Augustus yet, but I sure hope we get to see that sweet little guy on our upcoming trip. Your best bet is to look for him among the hippos while you ride Kilimanjaro Safaris. I'll keep my fingers crossed that he'll be out sunning himself while you are visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom.

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Jill
