I have reserved a scooter with one of the Disney Preferred vendors. I was able to also reserve a sun shade for the scooter. Will there be any problems with loading the scooter (with the attached sun shade) on any of the WDW provided transportation?

    Hi Kristi!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question - I'm happy to help!

I'm happy to hear you've reserved a scooter from  Walt Disney World preferred vendor. They are well aware of the size restrictions for motorized chairs and ECVs and will be sure to issue you a scooter that fits the guidelines for WDW Transportation.

Buses at Walt Disney World are equipped to accommodate mobility devices within the following guidelines:

        1) The mobility device must fit the lift without being forced. The standard lift size is 30” x 48”.
        2) The mobility device must be securely fastened in the onboard restraints.
       3)  It is recommended that Guests using a scooter transfer to a bus seat while onboard.

For watercraft transportation, access varies depending on the type of watercraft and the water levels/conditions. Guests will need to speak with a Disney Cast Member for assistance at the watercraft dock.

I know I've seen guests on all types of WDW Transportation with attached sun shades on their ECVs. You shouldn't have a problem loading the scooter, and you'll also be protected from that bright Florida sun!

I hope this helps answer your question. I encourage you to check out these services for Guests with mobility disabilities. Walt Disney World Resort does a great job of making sure that all guests are able to have the most magical experience ever on their WDW vacation.  - Diane W.
