We have reserved a room with a roll-in shower for our disabled daughter. Do the roll-ins come with a special roll-in shower chair or do we need to bring our own (we can't use her wheelchair in shower)?

Good morning Becky!  What a wonderful treat for your daughter to be planning a Disney vacation for her in the near future!  The resort rooms with the roll-in showers will not have a roll-in shower chair.  You can use your daughter's wheel chair to get her in and then if possible you can transfer her to the bench inside the shower.  There are companies that will rent equipment during your stay and will drop off and pick up at your resort which might be easier then bringing your own chair. Please click HERE for one possible link to a chair rental. I have never used the company but I am sure you can research and find the best option for your family.

There are several good sites that can help answer questions that might come up about traveling with a person with disabilities. Please click HERE.  I also recommend purchasing the book, PassPorter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World by Deb Wills and Debra Martin Koma.  This book covers just about anything regarding disabilities that might come up when planning a Disney vacation.

Please note that when you enter one of the Disney parks be sure and head to Guest Services to pick up the special disability guides they have printed for each location.  These will help you understand the rules and regulations of the different attractions such as if guests need to transfer from their wheel chair to the ride vehicle etc.  They will be more then happy to assist you so your day in the parks will be full of magic and fun!
