We have reserved a room in the family suite at the value resort would it be better to get two joining rooms instead? We have a 12, 3 and infant who will take naps at different times.

Hi Christina - The family suites are a great option for a family of five.  I know that you'll have plenty of room for your family, and will really enjoy staying in the suite.

However, you will have one living room and one bedroom, so you'll have to think about how that will work with naps.  You'd still only have two rooms if you had connecting rooms, so I'm not sure that would help.  If I were you, I'd stick with the family suite and just coordinate naps the best that you can.  I've found that we are all so tired when we visit Walt Disney World that naps generally aren't a problem.

I hope that helps!  Have a great vacation!
