I’ve reserved a preferred location At Disneys Caribbean beach resort. I have requested a 5th sleeper in Trinidad. Some people say Trinidad is standard room, but I’ve also heard it’s preferred, so that is what I booked. Which is correct? Or call resort?

Greetings Sheri and welcome back to planDisney!

I just spent a wonderful week at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort! It was my first stay at the resort and I absolutely loved it!

I stayed in the Martinique section, which was a preferred room, and I did have the fifth sleeper!

When I did my check-in for my preferred room, Trinidad was not one of my options.  The preferred category offered me Martinique and Barbados for building selections and “close to the Skyliner”, or “near bus” as the other options.

I chose Martinique because of its location near both Old Port Royale, which is the main check-in building for the resort, and its short walk to Disney’s Riviera Resort! It also gave me the option to walk to the Disney Skyliner station at the Riviera while stopping by that grand resort for a quick breakfast or to fill up my Disney refillable mug! Martinique also had its own pool area and was close to the first bus stop at the resort.   That is one thing to think about, there are multiple bus stations around the resort and Martinique is the first stop on and off.  The plus is you get on and get a seat; the minus is you do have to wait to stop at all of the other resort bus stops before you are on your way to the parks.  Coming home from the parks though, you are the first drop off in Martinique, which is a big benefit in my book!

I did a lot of scouting at the resort for my daughter who is making her first visit to Caribbean Beach in June, so I walked around Trinidad!  It's a very quiet corner of the resort across the street from the rest of the buildings and within the bird's eye view of the Disney Skyliner!  I mobile ordered lunch at Spyglass Grill and the cheeseburger and French fries were spot on! Plus, it was quiet, and I enjoyed my view of the Skyliner as I had my lunch on their open-air patio.

I do highly recommend reserving a spot for dinner at Sebastians Bistro!  It is located right near Old Port Royale and the Fuentes del morro Pool.  It was my second visit to Sebastians and the food and the service was fantastic! The buttery pull-apart rolls will fill you up if you don’t watch out!  The Spice Necklace Salad followed by the Island Feast is mouthwatering! You will end your night with Coconut-Pineapple Bread Pudding, and you will somehow find room to finish the entire plate!  Sebastian’s is one of the hidden dining gems at Walt Disney World!

Sheri, when I was at Caribbean Beach, I talked with a Cast Member at the reception desk to confirm for my daughter her need for a fifth sleeper in a preferred room.  The Cast Member told me that when there is a group of five people listed on the reservation, they will usually get the fifth sleeper room.  It is also good to put a note in your reservation to confirm your need for the fifth sleeper and that a phone call to reservations for a Cast Member to add this information would also be helpful.

Sheri, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, is an absolutely wonderful place for a family to enjoy the magic! And don’t forget to enjoy a Mickey Bar or two!
