Hi Kerry!
Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about my VERY FAVORITE special event of the year,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. It's a spooktacular evening of fun and family-friendly frights for all ages!
With the newly released dates and information for 2017, the
Happy HalloWishes Dessert Premium Package includes a Halloween-themed private dessert party with a bewitching buffet of treats and drinks, and a reserved VIP viewing area for the Happy HalloWishes Fireworks. Unfortunately, the party no longer includes the reserved parade viewing area as in past years. (I, too, had my fingers crossed that it would!)
Not to worry, there are lots of frighteningly fabulous spots to watch Mickey's Boo-To-You Parade, and it's typically offered twice on Halloween Party evenings. My favorite feature of the parade is the ride of the Headless Horseman, who traverses the parade route about ten minutes prior to the start time. He holds his lighted jack-o-lantern head high in his hand, as he makes his way along the route on his majestic black stallion. It's really an awesome sight to see!
Make sure to check out the special "Magic Shot" photos available with Photopass photographers during the party. Last year, there was a super spooky photo op in the front of the park that made it look like we were standing next to the Headless Horseman. So cool!
Other "must-dos" during the party are the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and performances by the "Cadaver Dans". There's so much to see and do, it's frightening!
I hope this information is helpful in your planning. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
