    Hi Veronica!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

A credit card reservation is only required at some of the restaurants.  If you are on a Disney Dining Plan, you can use your dining credits if appropriate.  A credit card guarantee is really there in case you don't show up and you forget to cancel; in that case, your credit card will be charged.

With regards to buying things out of pocket, the answer is "yes".  You can always pay for additional meals or even for additional items while at a meal in which the majority of the meal is covered by a Dining Plan.

Enjoy planning your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation, and please write back with more questions!
