Hi Lisa,
Welcome to planDisney! With so many ticket options and annual pass types to consider, answering your question will depend on what kind of ticket or pass you have. I’ll do my best to answer generally and hope I can help make your wish come true by guiding you on how to switch your reservation to
EPCOT.
For
date-based tickets, reservations aren’t required. If your ticket falls into this category, and you only purchased a 1-Day, 1 Park Per Day ticket, that transaction creates a "reservation" at the time of purchase. Since prices can vary between parks, changing from Magic Kingdom to EPCOT may require Cast Member assistance. You can call the
Existing Tickets line, and a friendly Cast Member can assist you in making the switch. Be prepared for potential additional charges based on pricing differences.
If you’re using an annual pass, the process depends on your pass type. I’m an Incredi-Pass holder, and changing reservations is a breeze. Simply visit the
Theme Park Reservations page on the Walt Disney World website and select “Make or Modify Theme Park Reservations.” From there, you can check availability and make changes as needed.
Since I see you’re writing from Florida, perhaps you’re a
Florida Resident Passholder. The Pixie Dust Pass is reservation-based for most weekdays, while the Pirate Pass and Sorcerer Pass both require reservations but offer more flexibility for park availability. I checked the
Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar, and it looks like EPCOT has availability on your preferred date of March 2, 2025, so I recommend making the switch soon before spots fill up!
I hope this helps answer your question, Lisa. If you have any additional questions or need more vacation planning assistance, feel free to reach out again. I’d be
delighted to help you plan your upcoming visit!
Cheers,
Brent
