I reserved a club level room for my birthday this weekend at the Grand Californian because I wanted to check it out, but I can’t seem to find an overview of exactly what The Veranda has to offer. Can someone please explain it for me? Thank you!

Hi there, Jessica! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. Oh boy, what a special way to celebrate your birthday! Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is one of my favorite hotels in the entire world. It brings just the right balance of elegance and coziness, making it perfect in my eyes.

I called a Cast Member at The Veranda to get some details for you. They are open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and there are complimentary snacks and beverages available all day for your enjoyment! Breakfast is served from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (note, you may ask for a mimosa by special request!), followed by afternoon tea, then “grand hour” from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with hot appetizers and complimentary beer and wine, and “sweet endings” at the end of the day for an impressive assortment of desserts.

Another great perk at The Veranda is an exclusive patio for fireworks viewing, and they stream in the music as well, so you get the full experience! When you check in, I recommend popping over to The Veranda to check it out and view the complete schedule for dining and entertainment. It’s on the sixth floor, near the Great Hall elevators.

Also, the Disney Parks Blog has a great feature on The Veranda from when it opened in 2017 – there are some beautiful photographs of the craftsman-style décor, and you’ll get a sense of what the experience will be like!

Be sure to check out GCH Craftsman Bar by the pool – it is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Disneyland Resort and I always make it a point to have a meal or snack there, even when I’m not staying at the hotel. The double-baked nachos and Prickly Pear Rose are two of my favorites. They usually have live music in the evenings – you can check in with the host stand for the schedule. If you're looking for a fancier birthday meal, you can stop by the host stand at Napa Rose to see if they can accommodate a last minute reservation!

You’re in for such a treat this weekend – I’m so excited for you! Don’t forget to grab your complimentary birthday button when you check in at the hotel, or at any gift shop at the parks.

Happy, happy birthday to you, Jessica – have a magical time this weekend!
