Hey there, Kati, and welcome to planDisney! Your Walt Disney World vacation is only days away at this point! Are you excited yet? With the
50th Anniversary in full swing and
EPCOT’s Flower & Garden Festival in full bloom, now is a great time to visit the Theme Parks. Be sure to set aside time on your visit to dive into all of the available Disney Snacks! After all, Disney food is an attraction all of its own!
ECV rentals are available at each Walt Disney World Theme Park; however, they are only provided on a first-come, first-served basis and are not available for reservation before arrival. The Cast Member will not request a doctor’s note for you to receive an ECV rental. Since availability is not guaranteed, I recommend arriving at the Theme Parks as early as possible to secure your rental. ECV rentals are only available as daily rentals and must be returned when you leave the Theme Park. If you plan to park hop, you will have to return the ECV rental at your first Theme Park and retrieve a new rental at the second Theme Park. Simply show your receipt to the Cast Member, and you will not have to pay for the second ECV rental. If you plan to enter the Theme Parks on multiple days, you will have to stop by the ECV rental desk each day to obtain your rental.
If you require an ECV outside of the Theme Parks, you can consider using an outside vendor like the Disney Featured Provider, Scooterbug. Using an outside vendor would give you the option to reserve an ECV before your visit and keep it the entire length of your stay. This would allow you to use the ECV throughout your resort as well. A link to the Scooterbug website is included at the Disney ECV rental link above.
I hope this helps, Kati! Your Walt Disney World Vacation awaits!
Until Next Time,
PG
